May Already?!

Yikes! Here it is already May while I’m behind again!

Saturday the 1st was a workday as usual! Mostly sewing, but I did manage to get some additional work done on my websites, while also some graphic designs in Illustrator, which are going to be used to start creating some ‘custom fabric’.

Yeah, I know, time waits for no one and I’ve got so much to do while just as much I want to do, but not enough time! It’s the same for everyone that I know of!

Sunday was Church as usual, while the newest cushions I took in were well accepted, plus the additional alterations I did for one member, while another member came to me to talk more about that Shirt-Jacket she wants me to take apart and make a pattern from. We also discussed about an upcoming trip to the Devil’s Punchbowl for an early – or somewhat early – service around 10am, with a great picnic following. I’m planning on driving there myself and if anyone needs a ride, will take them too, but am looking at doing some photography with my film camera, while also some digitals and footage to be able to document our trip and time there! I keep forgetting too that I’ve got that MSI Wind Netbook and can transfer my digital footage into Pinnacle to work on, but ‘finding the time’ is the issue! I’ve got so many other projects that need to be done, but with an upcoming move soon, I need to continue focusing on sewing especially, with woodwork as well for requests of different things to be made (plus items of my own design/thoughts) while they can also be added to my website, etsy account, and possibly try the Ebay thing again! I enjoy being able to sew all day long, where the few other places I stayed at over the years since moving here back in 1994, many I wasn’t allowed to sew, while I was put down so much for going to college and for who I was as a person! It was so hard to keep myself going and the more they put me down, the more I went back into a shell while those horrible thoughts kept going through my mind! Some places I’d wait as long as I could at school before I’d head to where I was staying so I wouldn’t have to face anyone or hear their hateful remarks and would leave as early in the morning as I could for the same reason! Sad, but have been trying to put and keep that behind me while I focus on skills, talents, future, and myself!

Ended up as usual working until around 10:30, then watching some commercials and very little of the program, then being so tired that I’d fall asleep sitting up!

Monday the 3rd started out to be a housecleaning day while the one friend from Rosamond was to come by and we were going to talk about her curtains, but she had to cancel out. I was so busy that morning, but when Sheree from Rosamond called and couldn’t make it, I went ahead and headed to their place to do some more woodwork. When I got there, I realized that they didn’t get any more sealer, while I also forgot my sander, so it ended up being a short day! Got there about 2pm, and left around 5pm, but did get a few things done! Next trip is up in the air as usual since I’ve got so much else that I do, while the fuel to get there is also a factor of when I am able to go. Even if I’m working on projects of my own, or for other client/friends, I have to wait until I have enough to pay for the fuel. When I got home I relaxed for a few minutes, then started in sewing again and didn’t stop until about 9:30 out of being so tired from the trip to Rosamond, plus the woodwork that I did, though it’s all good!! J

Tuesday was rescheduled to be the other housecleaning day, but we ended up rescheduling to Thursday, until I remembered that Sheree from Rosamond was going to come by and we are going to look at her curtain panels and what’s left over of the one bolt. I then made a trip to the bank to make a deposit, then back home to continue with the custom couch cover, which I did some more cutting and assembling according to the instructions. Now to get it finished so I can get it to her, plus continue on so many other projects that need to get done for more clients, while squeezing in some of my own sewing that’s been sitting for a while now on the back burner – so to speak! I did some more work on my websites, plus uploading the changes; did some more graphic designs in Illustrator; then at noon is when I worked more on that couch cover and worked until about 5:20 when it dawned on me that I had been planning on attending a ‘Notary Networking’ party that I was invited through by way of my Facebook account and a new friend.

I got there a few minutes late and knew no one else there, though did manage to mingle and by the time the event was over at about 7:30, I had passed out several business cards, while giving my 30 second elevator speech about how I can take any threadbare outfit that’s old, make a pattern out of it, then make a whole new outfit or two or three or more for them. One gal was so surprised to find out that I was a Tailor since I wore my Gambler’s Vest that I made for a Halloween celebration back in 2006 at college. Several folks thought I was a Notary until I told them what I really was and got a lot of raised eyebrows, plus good remarks, more possible clients, and invites to other mixers.

About an hour into this mixer, another friend that I had known from another group that I belonged to and am now an Alumni member, showed up. After the event was over, we talked in the parking lot for at least an hour afterwards and he too had become involved in a business venture that I have to wait to write about for at least one more week, possibly two. Once their website is up, then I can write about it here, while also adding topics to my Facebook account, and MySpace account to help spread the word. I also received some invites to more mixers, but can only go if I can afford them. A few run around $5.00, while a few others run $10.00, but most of them are $15.00 up to $35.00. It would be nice to attend all of them, or the ones that I’m most interested in, but am not able to! The networking is always good though!

When I got home I was too tired to do much except go to bed! I was even too tired to watch any commercials and ‘very little program’!

Today is another hectic day! Got sewing to do, while I’ve also got a video shoot to do for another friend this evening and two weeks from today as well! The rest of my week is just as hectic and busy too, so I may not get anything posted again for a few days again.
