How I Do It:
I use the t-shirts that you provide to make your t-cover. I cut out standard sizes from your t-shirts, taking care to include the graphics (front and/or back) to make a design that will become a “blanket of life.”
Graphic designs [taken from the front and back of your t-shirts] are used on the front of your t-cover.
Plain colored t-shirts can be used for the contrast. NOTE: You may want to send along additional t-shirts to make sure I have enough of a selection. Any unused shirts will be returned.
Depending on your decision, I can either create a bottom edge multi-colored t-shirt trim to finish it off, or if your t-shirt quilt is similar to a pieced quilt with each t-shirt design separated with strips of fabric – your color choice – the border around your quilt will be the same fabric chosen for the strips. Though polyester batting may be cheaper than cotton, I use cotton since it’s warmer, lays well when laid flat, and hangs just as well if used for a room divider or for show on a wall or quilt stand.
Typical cut-out sizes are 12.5 sq.in. or 14.5 sq.in.
A ‘t-shirt quilt’ may be the perfect gift for a wedding, birthday, graduation, retirement, college send-off, move to a retirement community, celebration of accomplishments, sorority/fraternity, community theater, race events, reunions, travels, school alma maters, memorials, recognition, and appreciation, or for those who are part of Religious or Spiritual Organizations. They also make great gifts for collectors and fans of sports teams, television series (Star Gate SG-1), and Movies (Star Trek or Star Wars) for example.

**These quilts I make are not just limited to T-Shirts! You can also send me copies of your favorite photographs or images, but they must be in digital format with images no less than the standard size of paper (8.5 x 11), and at least 300 ppi/dpi (PPI: Pixels Per Inch or: DPI: Dots Per Inch) in resolution for printing while you may also send transfers or I can make them myself. Each transfer though is a $5.00 charge, so figure for each square of fabric or T-Shirt square will be how much more to add for your quilt. These are ‘very special’ quilts that will be cherished for years to come, while collector’s items, and valuable if you wish to order two or more and sell one. The cost is justified by how they turn out and that they are made specifically for you, a loved one, a family member, extended family member, or very close friend.
